Paul and company carrier out a full re-wire of our 1890s house. They were super helpful planning it all out and were always on time and kept us informed.

The job is fantastic, there has been minimal disruption throughout the process, and we have an incredibly neat installation with almost no visible trunking, pipes or wiring. Did exactly as I hoped with the install and as always left everything tidy and clean before they left. Paul was very attentive to our specific requirements, particularly regarding the color of the indoor units. He managed to source these at better rates than available online. Our project was complex, and Paul suggested using indoor mini aqua pumps to avoid trunking on the outdoor walls, a solution that effectively routed water through the loft for the upstairs bedrooms.

Paul assessed our needs remotely through sketches, videos, and room layouts, ensuring the appropriate kWh systems were ordered. He also provided a competitive quote, even beating the lowest quote we had from another trader.

The installation team, including Paul’s wife Rebecca and son Alex, started and finished the project a day later than scheduled. They were consistently polite and hardworking. The process did generate a significant amount of dust, so we had to cover and move furniture, and spent an additional day or two cleaning afterwards.

While we didn’t get the exact positions for the aircon units we initially wanted due to the limitations of the refrigerant pipes, Paul’s experience and planning led to a satisfactory end result. There were a few minor damages and marks left behind, which were mostly filled in but not repainted. However, the exterior cable, pipe, and trunking work exceeded our expectations in terms of neatness and standards.

In hindsight, we would have appreciated a suggestion to hide the visible vertical pumps in the bedrooms. Nonetheless, one particularly challenging indoor-to-outdoor unit routing was handled exceptionally well by the team.

Despite a few hiccups, we found Electrics Experts and Air Conditioning to be a diligent and skilled team. Paul’s responsiveness and willingness to go the extra mile to meet our requirements were commendable. The project required careful planning and execution, and Paul’s experience was evident in the final result.

In June of this year my ability to tolerate increasing summer temperatures was getting markedly worse and on the advice of our daughter who has air conditioning in a bedroom, we decided to investigate the likely costs of installing air conditioning in the main bedroom. The Checkatrade site gave a rough estimate of between £1500 – £2000 pounds (a very useful site as it gives a breakdown of the likely costs for individual components and labour for an installation). The Checkatrade website gave three recommendations for our area (Cambridge) of which Electrics Expert & Air Conditioning (EE&AC) had the most favourable reviews. We put some pertinent details into the site and asked for a quotation from EE&AC.

I had a phone from Paul Ireland within a couple of hours asking for a few more details and saying that since they were working in the area he could pay a home visit on the Monday. Arriving on time, he took a look at our property; discussed with us some of the options and the next day provided a quote for two of the options we discussed. After looking at these, we decided that we might want to look at a couple more alternatives which were with us the next day. From a choice of eight options we decided to go for one external unit that could feed two rooms namely the main bedroom and a downstairs study/office.

An installation date was fixed for what turned out to be the hottest day in July. Paul and two of his team worked without a break had the system up and running by the end of the day. They tidied up both inside and out and explained the basic workings of the system to us. The main external unit is a reverse cycle heat pump and so can provide heating in winter as well as cooling in summer and so there is quite a variety of control options. The system is fully living up to our expectations.

In summary EE&AC may be a smallish family operation but they give a first class service for which we must give them full marks.

From the quotation to the end of installation Paul was very knowledgeable and helpful to answer all of our questions in person and via messages. Paul and his team did an excellent job at keeping the house clean and tidy, the installation itself looks clean and professional both internally and externally. He gave us an in-depth run down on how to work it all before leaving. Along with all of the professionalism the quote was also favourable. I would recommend Paul’s services to friends and family without any hesitation.
